Contact lenses is not hard to carry. To deal with them properly, however, in the beginning sometimes not so easy. You must pay attention to some things.

According to Statista statistics, about 3 million people in Germany wear contact lenses. No wonder, because such smart glasses are also sometimes, contact lenses are simply more practical. They do not fog in the winter, as soon as you enter a room, they do not slip constantly from the nose and smear not, if one touches them by mistake. In addition, you do not have to be afraid of an expensive damage if they are broken, which is a very sensitive issue especially in sports.

However, as inconspicuous and practical contact lenses are, they can also harm the eyes. For example, if you do not handle it properly or maintain it incorrectly. In the worst case, even eye diseases can occur. Eyeglasses have, as far as this point is concerned, so far ahead. But it is not so difficult to deal with contact lenses. Whoever internalises and always observes the following points will not get any problems with the unimpressive visual aids.

How to deal with contact lenses correctly

❍ Tip 1 - choose the right contact lenses:

Every human is unique. Accordingly, every eye. You should not simply buy any contact lenses on blue haze. This is an absolute no go. The contact lenses must be adapted to your vision and wear requirements. An optician can help you here and tell you which lenses are best for you. Finally, there are soft and hard contact lenses that are not equally suitable for everyone.

❍ Tip 2 - Regularly clean contact lenses:

You should always wash your hands thoroughly before inserting and removing (a manual for this). Then dry well with a lint-free towel. You can now touch the contact lenses. Both before inserting and after removing the lenses, you must clean them. You should do this as follows:

Take the first lens and place it on the palm.
Now drip a detergent on it.
Then, gently spread the liquid over the lens with a finger. Just rub gently over the lens.
Now you have to rinse the contact lens with a saline solution to remove the residues of the detergent.
Afterwards, you must drizzle the contact lens with a disinfectant to help germinate bacteria and germs.
Now rinse the contact lens container, fill the disinfectant and place the contact lenses.
If you want to make it easier, I recommend you use an all-in-one solution that is suitable for cleaning, disinfecting, storing and rinsing contact lenses. This way, you save a lot of time.

❍ Tip 3 - Remove contact lenses in the evening:

Contact lenses should always be removed from the eyes. Sleeping is unhealthy. Unless, of course, you have contact lenses that are suitable for both the day and the night. Such lenses are e.g. By Bausch & Lomb.

❍ Tip 4 - Replace the contact lens container regularly:

It is important that you regularly replace the contact lens container as deposits in the container can be seen which are not visible to the naked eye. Clean it daily and change it every few months.

❍ Tip 5 - Regularly replace contact lenses:

Not only the storage container but also the contact lenses must be exchanged regularly, otherwise irritation and irritation of the eyes can occur. Do not wear it longer than recommended. Even if you think the contact lenses are still good, you should exchange them.

❍ Tip 6 - Cosmetics:

If you want to make up your own make-up, put the lenses first and then wear Make up. This is the only way to prevent infections. Make sure that your lenses do not come into contact with mascara and kajal.

❍ Tip 7 - Check your eyes regularly:

Glasses and contact lenses are a medical product. It must therefore be regularly checked whether the "medicine" is still working properly. So you should have your eyes checked at regular intervals. Even if you do not feel any change, it is advisable, because especially with soft lenses, changes can occur in the eye, without you notice something. It is best to go to the ophthalmologist or optician once or twice a year.

❍ Tip 8 - Select alternative:

If you want to try contact lenses the first time, do not do it on your own. Always discuss this with your optometrist or optician, who can tell you if contact lenses are suitable for your eyes. He then selects the right lenses for you.

If you do not get clear with the contact lenses at all, you have to go back to the glasses. You can also remove your eyesight by laser surgery. With the so-called Lasik or Epi-Lasik method, short, wide and rod-sightedness (corneal curvature) in the cornea can be corrected. But do not go into the hands of experienced doctors. The Lasik Eye Center in Berlin is e.g. DIN ISO 9001 certified and can shine with many years of experience.
